XXXXX MILLER

3 MORE LINES, BURIED

Known facts about Cornelius Miller: 1] He is a younger brother of Amerilla Miller. 2] In the 1851 census he was in East Nissouri , age 42 [=born 1809], a farmer, born in Canada with a wife much younger than he. Her name was Eliza, born 1827 and they were probably married about 1843. 3] Their children were Norman born 1844, Sarah E. born 1846, Austin 1847, and Almer [ a girl, ] born 1849. 4] Cornelius died before the 1861 census. At that time his children were scattered to various households as follows;

With a relative, James and Caroline Nimock, the widow Elizabeth born USA , age 47 with children Norman 16, Sarah 14, both born USA , and Joseph 6, born in Upper Canada .

Austin born Upper Canada is working for Augustus Wilson , Almer may be with James and Caroline Sophia Matheson who would be first cousins.

Demerius 11 and Stephen 7 are with Cornelius and Jane McCorquodale, who were first cousins.

The ages are a bit compromised. The mother’s age jumped 20 years in 10 years. If Demarius was really 11 she should have been in the 1851 census. The North Embro cemetery gives the another possibility for Demarius,- that she was born 1852, after the census.

Demaris MILLER wife of John DOUGLAS died Feb 28 1910 aged 58 yrs John DOUGLAS 1850 – 1921

There is a possible marriage for the widow, but again the age is odd. Ezekiel Chambers, no age given, born St. Marys, married July 1 1863 to Elizabeth Miller, 58, of East Nissouri , born New York State .

Ezekiel in Blanshard Township is only 54 in the 1871 census. [born 1817]
